The Kentucky Council of Churches understands itself as a "household" or framework or context in which member communions and congregations may come together for common support, mutual inspiration, and shared witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore we say:

We are a household of faith,
a family of God's children,
living in this Commonwealth of Kentucky.

God is our Father and our Mother;
Christ is our Saviour and our Brother.
We are sisters and brothers to each other,
made one in the Spirit.

As member of this one family of God we seek to live together
in unity,
understanding,
equality, and
justice,
and to express this unity through
fellowship,
prayer,
worship, and
service.
