Executive Director
email: mmt@kycouncilofchurches.org

Dr. Taylor has served as the Council's Executive Director since June of 2009. She was awarded a Ph.D. in political science at Harvard University in 1986. For her Fulbright-funded dissertation research, she spent more than a year in rural Haiti studying the community development work done under the aegis of Roman Catholic missionary orders. From 1985-90, Marian served as a program officer of the Ford Foundation. Based in Mexico City, she aided women's organizations and worked for improved conditions for peasant farmers. While answering the call to ministry through the Presbyterian Church USA and completing her Master of Divinity degree at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary in 1995, Marian began to work for that denomination's headquarters and was ordained to that work becoming a Minister Member of the Presbytery of Mid-Kentucky. By 1997 she was the director of PCUSA international mission work including collaborations with 165 partner denominations in dozens of countries. Marian is devoted to helping the churches of Kentucky strengthen their witness to God's love through increased unity of voice, service, and fellowship. She and her husband Stephen M. Taylor live in Shelbyville.
