Presbyterian Center marks Unity Week with KCC

KCC executive director Marian McClure Taylor was the invited preacher as the Presbyterian Center (PCUSA headquarters) in Louisville marked the January 18th beginning of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The event in the Center chapel included the sacrament of Communion, with the Rev. Carlos Malave co-officiating. The sermon and scripture citations are attached here.

This event took place in a challenging climate, as some Presbyterians were convening that same day in Orlando, Florida, to consider breaking with the PCUSA denomination. Exhibiting the ways in which the churches of Kentucky have been woven together through warm ecumenical relationships, Catholic nuns in Nazareth promised to pray for Presbyterians on that day.
