The Rev. Kent Gilbert, President

The Rev. Kent Gilbert is an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ who has served Union Church (The Church of Christ, Union) in Berea, KY since 1997. He has served as a member of the KCC Executive board for 19 years, including 2 terms as Secretary and one as First Vice President. Union Church, an independent, intentionally ecumenical congregation since its founding in 1853, was one of the first abolitionist, bi-racial congregations in Kentucky and founded of Berea College. Union Church was a founding member of the Kentucky Council of Churches.

The Rev. Canon Elise Johnstone, First Vice President

When the Rev. Elise Johnstone is not chairing the Assemblies Planning Committee of the Council, she is serving as the Canon to the Ordinary, Episcopal Diocese of Lexington. In this role, she is the bishop's emissary and has special responsibilities for congregational development and the nurture and call of priests. A graduate of General Theological Seminary, she is pursuing doctoral studies at the University of the South at Sewanee.

 

Mrs. Linda Axon is the President for Church Women United in Kentucky and therefore is the Council's Second Vice President. 

The president of Kentucky's Church Women United, Linda Axon, is active in St. Paul United Methodist Church in Frankfort. .

 

The Rev. Kenneth Jerome Golphin, Treasurer

The Rev. Kenneth Jerome Golphin is the pastor of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. he is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary - Wilmore, Kentucky with a Master of Arts of Christian Leadership. He is the recipient of numerous awards and a member of several Community boards and organizations, including the office of Christian Director, Secretary and Trustee in Denominational Ministries.

Rev. Golphin has an impressive Pastoral career, having served on countless Community Boards and Organizations and Denominational Ministries. He is the recipient of numerous awards such as Distinguished Citizen of Mayfield, Paducah and Louisville, Kentucky, Kentucky Colonel, Captain of the Belle of Louisville, Duke of Paducah, Kentucky and Outstanding Leadership Award.

 

The Rev. Philip Lotspeich, Secretary

The Rev. Philip Lotspeich is the general presbyter for The Presbytery of Transylvania (PCUSA).
