COBB LECTURES FOCUS ON THEOLOGY
LEXINGTON -- Dr. Kwok Pui Lan is the William F.
Cole Professor
of Christian Theology and Spirituality at the Episcopal Divinity
School in
Cambridge, MA. She will deliver the 2008 William Daniel Cobb Lectures
at
Lexington Theological Seminary at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and Friday,
March
27 and 28. Her tentative topic will be "Theology in a Global
Context."
Dr. Kwok Pui Lan is an internationally known theologian
who has
published extensively in Asian feminist theology, biblical interpretation,
and postcolonial criticism. Her publications include Postcolonial
Imagination and Feminist Theology (2005), Introducing Asian Feminist
Theology (2000); and Discovering the Bible in the Non-Biblical
World (1995).
She is the coeditor of two groundbreaking volumes Empire and the
Christian
Tradition: New Readings of Classical Theologians (2007), and Off
the Menu:
Asian and Asian North American Women's Religion and Theology (2007).
The Cobb Lectures will be held in the Seminary's
Fellowship Hall
at the rear of the campus.
