  Rev. Mejia was born in El Salvador and serves as the Lead Pastor at Mosaic UMC in southwest Louisville. Mosaic is a multiethnic, multiracial, an intergenerational congregation with a desire is to reach every ethnic minority groups in the southwest Louisville.  

Rev. Mejia also serves as the Associate Director of Hispanic/Latino ministries with the Kentucky Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.  His role is to work with work with Clergy, Cabinet members, and laity to plant healthy, reproducing, disciple-making faith communities.  He implemented the INCUBATOR model to plant healthy reproducing congregations in every one of the UMCKAC congregations in Kentucky and trained 375 national leaders to use it in various Conferences. Florida, Northwest Texas, Kansas and Nebraska are using it with success.

Before coming to Kentucky, he served as the Youth National Coordinator in El Salvador, and as a Senior Pastor of “Jeriel” church in Guatemala. After leading “Jeriel” for eight years, the church became a missionary sending agency. Since 1986, he pastored two churches in Dallas Fort-Worth and planted two Hispanic/Latino congregations in the USA.

His master’s degrees are from The Central American Theological Seminary of Guatemala the Dallas Theological Seminary of Texas. He also studied Clinical Psychology at the Jesuit University "Jose Simeon Cañas," El Salvador.  Some of his hobbies include cycling, drawing, writing narrative short stories, fishing, kayaking, building and flying kites, observing people, and learning new technologies.
